DIESEL MECHANIC

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Diesel Mechanic is responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on diesel-powered equipment, vehicle, and machinery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, as well as mechanical and electrical systems on vehicles and equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks.
• Troubleshoot and identify mechanical issues and develop repair plans.
• Conduct inspections to ensure vehicle meet safety standards and regulations.
• Conduct routine maintenance and inspection of machinery and vehicles per site
• Adhere to safety and environmental regulations
• Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed – job card system
• Provide adequate feedback to supervisor on work progress

• Strong understanding of diesel engines and related systems

• Excellent communication skills
• Proficient in using tools and diagnostic equipment

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Trade test certificate for Diesel Mechanic
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience as a diesel mechanic
• Valid driver’s license

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Excellent mechanical skills, with knowledge of diesel engines
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues
